Fall at Spruce

Fall is here at Spruce! Technically. It is still very hot outside, but inside the shop we are fully pretending otherwise.

We’ve been working behind the scenes on our fall menu for the last few weeks and it officially drops September 1st. We’ve been testing drinks, changing things, testing them again, and I’m really excited about where we landed this year.

I know September 1st is still a little early for fall, but we have a bunch of private events happening the first week of September and it just made the most sense to start fresh on the first of the month. Also, the shop is already completely decked out for fall and Halloween, so there’s really no going back now.

I also went on a plant run last month for the first time in a while! I thankfully have an amazing plant helper who does most of our runs these days AND takes care of the plants at the shop (truly a lifesaver), but she was out of town for August so I was back on plant duty. It was actually kind of fun to do it again. I forgot how much I like wandering around the nurseries looking for weird stuff and somehow convincing myself we can fit 20 more plants in the uhaul.

So what’s next?

We’re already starting to prep for the Murray Hill-O-Ween parade. We take the Spruce bus every year and I think we’re going Scooby-Doo themed this year, which should be fun.

Then basically the second Halloween is over, we’ll turn around and it’ll be Christmas. We’re already starting to plan the Winter Night Market, holiday stuff at the shop, events, workshops and everything else that comes with the last couple months of the year.

Oh, and I’m having a baby in early December.

Great timing on my part lol.

Anyway — one season at a time.

For now, the shop is full of plants, pumpkins, ghosts and all the fall things. The new menu drops September 1st and I’m really excited for you guys to try it.

See you at Spruce 🪴
