Midsummer Market at Spruce — A Little Celebration of Summer, Creativity & Community
This Friday, Spruce is turning into something really special — our Midsummer Market! It’s all about celebrating summer, supporting local makers, and just enjoying a good time together. I’ve handpicked vendors who bring something unique and awesome, and we’ve been pouring a lot of love into making the space feel just right.
One thing that’s super important to me is being mindful about how we set everything up. We’re all about reusing and recycling here. For example, the vendor banners? I made those with fabric flags I already had lying around, plus some ribbon saved from past events — it felt good giving those things new life instead of buying all new stuff.
My amazing friend (huge thanks to her!) hand-dyed tablecloths made from old sheets and curtains. These will serve as table coverings for our vendors, helping us create a really curated, thoughtful experience. She even took it a step further by crafting garlands out of the leftover fabric — love those little touches! She also went thrifting to find some cool pieces for our photo spot — those details make everything feel warm and collected over time, which I love.
I’m hoping to make flower crowns ahead of time for each staff member and vendor — it’d be a sweet, whimsical touch to celebrate summer and add a bit of magic to the market vibe, but we’ll see if I can squeeze it in!
Also, one of our team members is hand-painting a sign I actually used at my wedding eight years ago. It’s kind of wild how things come full circle, and it adds a personal touch I’m really excited about.
All these little details — the handmade stuff, the reclaimed decor, and the passion from our amazing friends and staff helping this vision come to life, plus the dedication from our vendors — make this market more than just a place to shop. It’s a vibe, a way to connect, sip on something tasty, listen to live music, and leave feeling inspired.
We can’t wait to see you Friday! Come hang out and see how beautiful summer can be when we all get creative.
And yep — fingers crossed it doesn’t rain!
